World Badminton Day

July 5, 2022, was the inaugural World Badminton Day.

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, the first World Badminton Day took place. This day was chosen by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on the occasion of its creation 88 years ago, on July 5, 1934. In recognition of this important date in the history of badminton, the WBF has suggested to its members to bring together members of the community to celebrate the experience of fun and inclusive badminton, through a variety of engaging and innovative badminton activities. Fun activities took place around the world to mark the event. Although the events varied in size, shape and location; the common theme of celebrating and promoting badminton has been shared by many badminton fanatics.

On this very special day, the finals of the 2022 YONEX Senior Badminton National Championships, 2022 YONEX Junior U11/U13/U15 National Badminton Championships and 2022 YONEX Para-Badminton National Championships were held at Millenium Place in Sherwood Park, Alberta. The day was filled with exciting performances and several athletes were crowned.

The YONEX U17 & U19 & U23 National Badminton Championships will take place from July 7 to 12, 2022 in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
