2025 YONEX Canadian Masters Championships

An inspirational tournament celebrating the longevity of badminton wraps in Markham, Ontario.

June 3, 2025 - (Markham, ON) - The 2025 YONEX Canadian Master Championships concluded in Markham Pan Am Centre on June 3, 2025. The event saw national champions across ten age groups starting from 30+ to 75+.

With 250 participants, this year’s Masters was a celebration of resilience, dedication, and the timeless beauty of badminton. With age categories reaching 75+, we witnessed far more than just skillful rallies - we saw the enduring spirit of athletes who continue to pursue the sport they love, decade after decade. The connections made during the national Master persists to extend beyond the court. This year, following the tradition of a social night, players and officials enjoyed a semi-formal dinner at Touro Brazilian Steakhouse.

After intense matches from May 30 to June 3, your national Masters winners are:

Beyond tournament results, it is notable to highlight the two True Sport winners: Cheryl Bartel and Vong Kim. The True Sport award honours the two players (one male, one female) who represents the best sportsmanship chosen by the official umpires. Furthermore, your furthest travel winner is Ertanto (Bobby) Kurniawwan from Indonesia, which is 15,040 km away from Markham!

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to everyone who made this possible. See you next year!
