May 17, 2025 - (Moncton, NB) – The 2025 Yonex Canadian Senior and Para Badminton Championships and the 2025 Canadian Junior Championships wrapped in Moncton at the University of Moncton on May 17, 2025. The event saw national champions in Junior ages (U13, U15, U17, U19), Senior and Para celebrated with 389 entries from all over the country. These tournaments involve some of the country's best providing opportunities for players to play at a high level and develop domestic competitive play. 

Starting from May 6 to May 9, the U13 and U15 competition saw young players from across the country compete in the final qualification for the XXXIII YONEX Pan Am Junior Championships 2025 – Team and Individual Events in Ciudad de Guatemala. Winners included:

This was followed by the U17 and U19 competition, with ranking points available to compete at the Yonex Sunrise BWF World Junior Championships 2025 in India during October for the U19 players available. Winners included:

The competition was hosted by Badminton New Brunswick and the Moncton Badminton Club. Tournament Director, Daryl Beers, “It has been an honour to have been given the opportunity to host the Junior, Senior and Para National Championships in Moncton. These three tournaments combined was twelve days of amazing badminton. The Para portion had a special meaning for me as I was the director of the first ever Para National Championships back in 2016. I would like to thank all the Moncton Badminton club volunteers for their amazing support throughout the entire event!” 

Bryan R. Merrett, Executive Director of Badminton Canada, shared, "The Canadian National Championships are a time of badminton celebration for our sport. Players are able to compete and showcase Canadian up and coming talent and demonstrate how far the sport has grown over the years. We are proud to be able to work with skilled and supportive communities such as in Moncton and with Daryl and his team.” 

One of the Highlights of the Senior event was Timothy Lock winning the triple crown (Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles). Mike Beres from Ontario was the last player to win the triple crown back in 2007.
