Prospectus

 

VENUE: All tournament matches will be at the Cégep de Drummondville. 960 St-Georges street, Drummondville, Quebec J2C 6A2

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for the Canadian National Badminton Championship, all athletes must meet the following requirements:

1.Be a Canadian citizen. Citizenship must be authorized by a valid Canadian passport.

2.Be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age as of January 1st in the year of the event.

3.Be a student who is registered for and pursuing a full programme of study leading towards a degree or diploma at a post-secondary institution. 
  
or Be a former student who has graduated from a post-secondary institution as a student in good standing, in the year preceding the event.

4.

The competition will be conducted under the official rules of Badminton Canada and the BWF.

  1. 18:00 to 19:00 Practice courts available
  2. 18:00 to 19:00 Registration
  3. 18:00 to 19:00 Coach meeting at the venue
  4. 19:00 to 23:00 Competition starts with team event, all rounds to the final

                                                                                                                           

Saturday March 21, 2015

 

  1. 08:30 to 09:00 Practice courts available
  2. 09:00 to 11:30 Team event final and last other rounds of team event if necessary
  3. 10:00 to 19:00 Individual event starts with all the single rounds up to finals and mixed double as far as possible up to the final
  4. 13:00 to 19:00 Single and mixed consolation
  5. 19:00 to 23:00 Social activity, the dinner is included for all participants and officials

  1. 8:30 to 9:00 Practice courts available
  2. 9:00 to 11:00 End of mixed double event if necessary
  3. 9:00 to 13:00 men’s double and women’s double main draw up to finals
  4. 9:00 to 13:00 End of consolation matches
  5. 14:00 to 18:00 Individual event finals

 

SPECTATORS

Friday - Free

Saturday - Free

Sunday - Free

EVENTS:

Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. 
Consolations will be held for all competitors defeated in their first round match of the main event. It will be the responsibility of each athlete to notify the draw desk, within 30-minutes of their opening round defeat.
 

TOURNAMENT FEE:

Team entry fee - $200
Single Tournament Entry Fee of $125 includes :

  1. All shuttles during tournament play
  2. Participation in up to three events: singles, doubles and mixed
  3. Social event: TBD
    1. Free for all players, referees and Umpires
    2. $25 for all other individuals wishing to attend
  4. Payment is required at time of on-line registration.

 

WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Refunds are provided less a 20% administration fee to entrants who withdraw prior to the entry deadline of the event. 


After the deadline, but prior to the draws being made, refunds are provided less a 50% administrative fee. 


Refunds will not be provided after the draws are made. 


Full refunds will be made for injuries that make it impossible for an athlete to compete provided documentation from a doctor is provided.
 

ENTRY DEADLINE:
The tournament entry deadline is Friday March 6th, 2015 at 11:59pm PST.

Unpaid entries will not be included in the draws. 
Entries received via mail, fax or regular email will not be accepted.
LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

 

PRIZES AND SHUTTLES:
Medals will be provided to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 
Official shuttle will be YONEX feather shuttle. 
Shuttles will be provided for all matches.

SEEDING:

Seeding will be conducted by a panel of CCAA and CIS coaches.

 

RULES:

The 21- Rally Point scoring format will be utilized. Three-minute warm-up and ten minute default will be strictly enforced. The use of protective eyewear is strongly recommended during play.
