Pan Am Para Badminton Championships 2025 Results

Canadian Athletes Deliver Outstanding Performance at Pan Am Para Championships, Securing 10 Medals 

Ottawa, ON (October 30, 2025) – Seven Canadian para badminton athletes represented Canada at the Pan Am Para Championships 2025, held in Sao Paulo, Brazil from October 21 to 26, 2025. Competing against the top players from the Pan Am region, the athletes delivered outstanding performances, earning ten medals across various categories.  

In the SU5 category, Rishav Sharma delivered a standout performance by earning two gold medals, one in men's singles and another in men's doubles, where he partnered with Joshua Huang of the USA. 

In the SL3 category, William Roussy captured a gold medal in men's doubles alongside Maximiliano Avila Sosa from Mexico. Roussy concluded his tournament with a silver medal in men's singles.  

In the SH6 category, Justin Kendrick and Colleen Cloëtta claimed the gold medal in mixed doubles. 

“Team Canada was exceptional at the Pan Am Para Championships,” shares Executive Director Bryan Merrett, “Badminton Canada athletes were challenged and they performed. Four gold medals demonstrated this team's strength in the Pan Am region.” 

Additionally, Émilien Langelier earned a silver medal in mixed doubles with Andrea Montoya Castañeda of Peru. Justin Kendrick secured a bronze medal in men's singles, competing in a highly competitive field with both Anthony Hay and Wyatt Lightfoot advancing to the quarter finals. Two other men's doubles pairs, Anthony Hay and Émilien Langelier, as well as Wyatt Lightfoot and Justin Kendrick, each reached the podium and secured a bronze medal. In the women's singles category, Colleen Cloëtta earned a bronze medal adding another medal to Canadas medal tally.
