Para Athletes Compete at the 2025 Peru Para Badminton International

Team Canada Para Badminton Athletes bring home eight medals from the Peru Para Badminton International 2025. 

Lima, Peru (August 20, 2025) – Nine Canadian para badminton athletes represented Canada at the Peru Para Badminton International 2025, held in Lima, Peru from August 12 to 17. Competing against top international talent, the athletes delivered remarkable performances, earning eight medals across various categories.  

In the SH6 category, Anthony Hay and Émilien Langelier delivered a strong performance in men’s doubles, earning the silver medal after defeating fellow Canadians Justin Kendrick and Wyatt Lightfoot in the semifinals. Justin and Wyatt went on to secure a bronze medal in the same event. In SH6 women’s doubles, Brooklyn Wolfrey-Allen and Colleen Cloëtta, competing together for the first time on the international stage, earned a silver medal, marking a successful debut as a pair.  

Canada also saw success in the SH6 mixed doubles, where Justin and Colleen claimed the silver medal, while Wyatt and Brooklyn took home a bronze medal. Colleen added a third medal to her tally with a bronze in women’s singles.  

In the SU5 category, Rishav Sharma earned a silver medal in the men’s doubles, partnering with Joshua Huang from the United States. In SL3 men’s singles, William Roussy captured a bronze medal. Mikhail Bilenki also competed in men’s singles WH1, placing third in his group standings.  

“Congratulations to our Canadian athletes on their performances at the 2025 Peru Para Badminton International. It is always encouraging to see a young team continue to develop their talent and give it their all on court." said Mike Luck, High Performance Director. "For Brooklyn, this was her first BWF tournament, claiming two medals in the process, and coming close to capturing a third in WS-SH6. The MS-SH6 category is becoming quite competitive in Canada, with four talented and evenly matched young men leading the way. There is no doubt that this Para Team for Canada has a promising future!" 

These outstanding results from the 2025 Peru Para Badminton International reflect the growing depth of talent within Canada’s para badminton program. With multiple podium finishes across categories and promising performances from both seasoned athletes and newcomers, Team Canada continues to demonstrate its potential on the international stage.
