Team Canada is currently in Bangkok, Thailand for the BWF Thomas & Uber Cup taking place May 8-15, 2022.

The last edition of the Thomas and Uber Cup finals was as recent as October 2021 in Aarhus, Denmark, where Team Canada finished in 9th place for the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. This year again, Canada has qualified again for both the Thomas and Uber Cups, and are set to compete against some of the best countries in the world! The Men's Team qualified for the Thomas Cup in February 2022 by winning the Pan Am Team Qualifier in Acapulco, Mexico. The Women's team qualified for the Uber Cup in the same tournament by finishing with the best overall ranking World Ranking.

"We're very happy to have our top athletes at Thomas and Uber Cup Finals," said National Team Head Coach Mike Butler, ChPC. “We are always excited by the Thomas and Uber Cups as it gives us insight to how Canada is developing players against other countries. With a few Next Gen Team athletes joining us this year, our team will leave with valuable experience to build upon.”

With 17 athletes, 8 men and 9 women, competing in the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals, Team Canada is ready to fight and show that they belong among the best badminton countries in the world! Athletes representing Canada at the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals are:

For the Thomas Cup Team Canada is placed in Group C and will face the Republic of China, India and Germany.

For the Uber Cup Team Canada will be in Group D with South Korea, India and USA.
