The YONEX Canadian Masters Championship is headed to Calgary in 2023!

The event is set to return for the first time in four years!

The YONEX Canadian Masters Championship is returning in 2023 at the Calgary Winter Club, in Calgary, Alberta from June 12-17, 2023. With the last edition of the Championship played in the spring of 2019, the event will return for the first time in four years!

The Championship will once again look to host ten age categories, from +30 to +80, in all disciplines (numbers permitting). Finalists will receive medals and winners will have their names placed on the annual Masters Championship plaques! Of course, the Calgary Winter Club will be scheduling social events for participants throughout the tournament should the health and safety protocols allow.

"The Calgary Winter Club looks forward to welcoming back our Masters badminton community for what is sure to be a week of fierce competition, fun, and renewed friendship" said Jody Patrick, Co-Event Chair for the 2023 Masters Championship.

Jody Patrick is a 2004 Olympian in Mixed Doubles with Mike Beres, and remains involved with badminton at all levels; she now Co-Chairs the 2023 Masters Championship organizing committee with Lindsay Reynolds.

“We understand that our Master’s players are eager to reconnect on court after a long hiatus” said Joe Morissette, Executive Director of Badminton Canada. “Having the Championship re-launch with a strong host in Jody Patrick, Lindsay Reynolds and the host committee at the Calgary Winter Club will certainly be an excellent celebration of badminton.”
