Team Canada takes the court at the 2021 BWF Sudirman Cup in Vantaa, Finland
Badminton Canada is in Vantaa, Finland for the 2021 BWF Sudirman Cup from September 26- October 3rd, 2021.
Last time Team Canada competed at the BWF Sudirman Cup was back in 2019 in Nanning, China, where Canada was Group 2 Champions! Now, a young Canadian Team takes the court against some of the worlds best.
"This year's team will be a little different compared to our historic success back in 2019" said National Head Coach, Mike Butler. "Many of our Olympic athletes are taking the time to recover and injury prevention coming off the Olympic Games this summer. That just opens the door for our Next Gen athletes to gain some valuable experience; playing top athletes in the world, traveling to BWF World Team events, watching and learning from the best athletes - all will contribute to their development as they enter the international stage and begin competing in BWF events regularly."
