Badminton Canada (BCAN) and the National Officials’ Committee (NOC) has recognized a gap in our succession of international Referees. Our two current BWF Referees are both scheduled to retire within the next 4 years. BCAN and the NOC are looking to fast track a number of individuals through our Referee Program.

 

The following Policy details the selection process, criteria and expectations of this “one-off” acceptance into a Fast-Tracked Referee Program (FTRP). The application process and timelines in FTRP will be outside the Referee Program detailed in Section II of BCAN’s Officials’ Policy, however the other aspects, including skill levels, assessment requirements (ie. type of exams, etc) still apply. The FTRP has the support of BCAN Board of Directors.
