Team Canada Wins Gold at the XXVIII Pan Am Junior Championships

Team Canada defends theor Pan Am Junior Championship title by defeating USA (3-0) in the Team Event!

From Friday July 12th to Sunday July 14th 2019, Team Canada set out to defend their Pan Am Junior Championship Team title as they competed on home soil at the Universite de Moncton, in Moncton, New-Brunswick!

After a (5-0) win over Peru and Chile on the monring of day 1, Team Canada had a tough match against USA to finish the day. With a slow start and being down (0-2) going into the thrid match, Team Canada needed to rally back in the Men's Singles to continue; stepping up for Canada was Yunzhi Chen (AB). After losing the first game, it wasn't looking good for Canada, trying to take down USA and lock down the top seed on the first day of play. Yunzhi stayed paitent as the rest of Team Canada eagerly cheered on, and would come out to win the first match for Canada! The rest of the team was able to build off the momentum, and take the win in a long 5 match tie (3-2) over the USA. 

Team Canada would face Team USA again in the Team Finals on Sunday afternoon. This time, Canada was rested and loud as tehy competed against their North American rivals. This time, it wouldn't be as close, with Team Canada taking the swift win (3-0) over USA, and successfully defend their Team Event title!
