Team Canada takes on the best in the Pan Am Region!

From April 25-28, 2019, 17 of Canada's top athletes will be competing in the XXIII Pan American Individual Championships in Aguas Calientes, Mexico!

The 2019 edition of the XXIII Pan American Individual Championships will unite the best badminton players from the Pan Am region - including 17 of Canada's top athletes! Michelle Li, Jason Ho-Shue & Nyl Yakura, Rachel Honderich & Kristen Tsai, and Ty Lindeman & Josephine Wu, all look to defend their 2018 Pan Am Championship title. However, it will not be an easy road to the Final, with fellow Canadian's Brian Yang,  Brittney Tam, and Joshua Hurlburt-Yu & Duncan Yao all competing to be this year's Champions!

In Men's Singles, Brian Yang will have a tough match in the Round of 16, playing defending 2018 Champion Igor Coelho de Oliveira (BRA) in hopes to advance. On the bottom half of the draw, Jason Ho-Shue also has the potnetial to play fellow Canadian Andrew Zhuang in the Round of 16. 

In Women's Singles, Michelle Li will look to defend her title on the top half of the draw; with Brittney Tam and Talia Ng set to face off in the Round of 16 to continue on to Quarter-Finals.

The Men's Doubles event will feature 3 time defending champions - Jason Ho-Shue and Nyl Yakura. However, fellow Canadian's Joshua Hurlburt-Yu and Duncan Yao will look to claim the 2019 title. Smilarly in Women's Doubles, the event willl feature #1 seed and defending champions - Rachel Honderich and Kristen Tsai. 

Concluding in the Mixed Doubles event, Canadian National Champions Joshua Hurlburt-Yu and Josephine Wu will look to claim their first Pan Am Championship title together, but have the potential to face fellow Canadian's - Ty Lindeman and Rachel Honderich in the Quarter-Finals!
