Team Canada Heads to the XXIII Pan Am Mixed Team Championships

From February 14th to 17th, 2019, nine athletes will represent Canada in Lima, Peru!
A handful of Canada’s top players have been selected to attend the XXIII Pan Am Mixed Team Continental Championship in Lima, Peru. The tournament will take place at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento La Videna, beginning on Thursday, February 14th and concluding on Sunday, February 17th. The Pan Am Championships will feature some of the best players from across the America’s, which will showcase a competitive week of Badminton.
There will be a total of 9 athletes representing Team Canada at the Pan Am Championships; 5 men and 4 women:
Men:
Jason Ho-Shue – Markham, ON - E-Badminton Training Centre
Joshua-Hurlburt Yu – Markham, ON - KC Badminton Centre
Nyl Yakura – Markham, ON- KC Badminton Centre
Brian Yang – Richmond Hill, ON – E Badminton Centre
Duncan Yao – Vancouver, BC – ClearOne Badminton Centre
Women:
Catherine Choi – Markham, ON – E Badminton
Talia Ng – Markham, ON – Ontario Badminton Academy
Brittney Tam – Markham, ON – KC Badminton Centre
Josephine Wu – Edmonton, AB – B-Active Badminton Club
These 9 selected athletes are eager to build off last years impressive team performance at the Pan Am Championships where both the men and women brought home the gold medal. Last year at the 2018 Pan Am Championships in Tacarigua, Trinidad and Tobago, both the men and women’s team finished undefeated through group play before capturing the gold medal.
