Throughout the year, our junior athletes have been traveling the country competing at Yonex Junior Elite Series events with aspirations of qualifying for the Junior National Team. As the Championship approaches, each athlete is one step closer to achieving their goal of representing their country on the international stage.

“We are very excited to have such a great group of athletes representing Canada for the upcoming competition season as we continue to build our National Team program” said Jordan Bridal, High Performance Manager. We look forward to having great results at the Junior Pan Am Championships and building towards hosting the World Junior Championships later this year.”

In preparation for the Championships, each Junior National Team member (U15-U19) was provided a full team uniform, in addition to the opportunity to participate in a regional training camp lead by our National Team Head Coach, Mike Butler. These camps focused upon athlete testing – skill, physical, and tactical abilities. By initiating the athlete testing, athletes and coaches will be able to track athlete development throughout the season, and for years to come.

Good luck to all athletes competing at the 2018 Junior Pan American Championships, and congratulations to all the athletes who have been selected as part of Team Canada! Go Canada go!
