COVID-19 Update: Tournament Calendar
August 25, 2020
Badminton Canada announces event status updates for the 2020-21 Tournament Season
As regions of the country begin to loosen health and safety procedures and enter new phases of re-opening, Badminton Canada and its provincial associations continue to work closely with the respective government and health agencies to ensure we are returning to play in a safe manner. Badminton Canada would like to update the greater badminton community at this time on the status of the domestic national level events hosted in Canada in the fall of 2020.

“Badminton Canada has been monitoring the status of COVID-19 for 6 months with our government and health partners” said Executive Director, Joe Morissette. “The health and safety of the athletes, coaches, volunteers, delegates, and the greater badminton community continue to be our top priority. We understand that our community is eager to return to competition, however due to the risk of hosting events of large numbers, in addition to varying provincial travel restrictions, it is still premature to host a national level event at this time.”
Badminton Canada is working diligently with the tournament hosts to find alternate dates for the respective YONEX Junior and Senior Elite events listed as postponed. However, as COVID-19 continues to affect our 2020-21 tournament season, some events will result in moving from a Postponed to Canceled status.
