OTTAWA, ON – Badminton Canada is pleased to announce Black Knight as the new sponsorship partner for para-badminton in Canada. The multi-year endorsement will set Black Knight as the official para-badminton provider of equipment and apparel such as Team Canada official uniforms, para national and international events.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Black Knight on this milestone partnership for para-badminton in Canada,” said Joe Morissette, Executive Director for Badminton Canada. “Black Knight and its strong investment in the racquet industry will help unite Canadian para-badminton fans, athletes, officials and coaches from across the nation.”

As part of the partnership, Black Knight will work with Badminton Canada to create a new marketing approach for clothing and accessories that will be oriented towards para-badminton in Canada. A first look of this sponsorship is scheduled for its launch at the IV Pan Am Para-Badminton Championships held this weekend in Medellin, Columbia (link)!

“We are proud to be the first badminton speciality company to sponsor and promote the para category of badminton in Canada.” said Allan Sklar, President of Black Knight Canada. “We are hopeful that our contribution to this group of amazing athletes will help to enhance the visibility and participation of new para athletes to badminton. We are excited to be a part of this initiative and hope to be strategic partners in the process of growing para-badminton in the years to come.”

The list of athletes who will be part of the 2016/2017 Black Knight National Para-Badminton Team will consist of 4 outstanding athletes selected on the base of international results as well as results from the first Canadian para-badminton championships that were held last May in Moncton, NB.

The members of the 2016/2017 Black Knight National Para-Badminton Team are:

·         Pascal Lapointe (SL4) - Montreal, QC.
·         Wyatt Lightfoot (SS6) - Wilcox, SK.
·         Luke Millar (WH1) - Calgary, AB.
